An overview of Dog Days
Teak and Curly Maple Custom Table
Table

Dog Days' Mahogany and Western Curly Maple table replaced the original white formica thing that dominated the interior cabin. The Mahogany is laid out so the grain is at a 45 degree angle to the centerline of the boat, and the Maple offsets that 30 degrees in the other direction. It fits with the boat, and creates a sense of movement and forward direction, while still blending with the natural wood of the cabin.  The grain of the Western Curly Maple rises out of the wood like clouds.

Awning

The back clips onto the backstay, the front is suspended by the main halyard, and the center is clipped onto the topping lift.  At each end are flexible fiberglass tent poles from WalMart.

Tiller Tamer

The Tiller Tamer takes the place of an Autopilot, allowing for easy single handing.  It's made of  basic Teak stock, glued together to make a block of teak.  It fits into the back winch, normally used for the chute.  A hacked off winch handle is mounted on the bottom of the teak block.  You reach the release lever by reaching down into the Tiller Tamer.
